I have a problem with Gcalsync on my 6131 too. I get the message:
"Synchronization failed due to java.lang.IllegalargumentExeption:Invalid port", when I trying to sync. Are you as well? I don't think the problem lies in undersupport for S40. Instead the problem is that (I think) you need a true connectionpoint to internet (no proxies on the way). I think this could be fixed if gcalsync gets better connection-linking. On some nokias you can disable proxying, but you can't on 6131 it seems :(
