It’s been a while since release 1.0.0, well short while at least. About a weeks ago we released a bugfix version 1.0.1 (Mac version 0.2), this was a rather big bugfix. Before 1.0.1 there was a lot of theading issues, that made the program practically broken on dual core Windows systems. We’ve fixed most of these issues, and now both the Windows and Linux versions have become more stable. The issues fixed in version 1.0.1 was those listed on our known issues pages.
Well, today we’ve released a Linux version 1.0.2 and a Mac version 0.2.1, those are not very critical. Well the Mac release might be, since I discovered that the Mac version 0.2 didn’t start when the application was launched. It seams there was a typo in the packaging process, I fixed the typo and we’ve released Mac version 0.2.1. Which should be running now, requiring X11 and Mono. The problem with the Linux version was that the menu entry for playlist generation was dead, we’ve fixed, and the Linux version should now be capable of generating playlists. That’s the story behind the latest bugfixes, the Windows version 1.0.1 is still good.
Is TheLastRipper supposed to have audio while recording? I’ve installed it on two systems, and on both there’s no sound when I tune into a station and record.

No, there’s currently no audio playback support, It’s just a ripper… But It might come in furture versions…

Hey dude,
Today I’ve disovered thelastripper. It’s pretty nice. I just have one little bug. The ripper often cuts too late. For this reason, you loose the beginning of the song, cause it is at the end of the previous file. That means that you need to listen the mp3′s in the same order, as you’ve listened to the stream. Maybe you can find a solution. (I’m using the 1.0.1 version for windows)

We are aware of the issue, but we don’t know how to fix it. A more technical description of the problem can be found in our issue tracker: http://code.google.com/p/thelastripper/issues/detail?id=6
The thing with the skip button is a little mysterious, it’s a windows specific problem… Sometime the skip feature works, but it seams the server doesn’t answer the client… Or perhaps windows has a problem with multiple connections to the same host… Anyway, we know the skip button isn’t always working, but we can’t find anything wrong i out code…

Sorry to bump to such an old post. But i see on your Google Code’s site that says that you’ve resolved issue #6.
Does that mean that Version 1.0.1 for Windows now doesn’t have that problem,If i Uninstall the app and re-download it?

Sorry, Windows version 1.0.1 is probably the one you’ve got installed currently. If not update for other reasons… (you can check your version in the about box)
But as you can see in issue tracker, issue 6 was fixed as of revision 175. It’s also been ported to windows as of revision 182. But it not stable yet, there’s still some other major bugs that have to be fixed before I release the new version.
The issue will be fixed in next release which will be 1.1, so hang on… it’s coming out for beta testing soon. I’ll probably post it here too.
