Like I wrote yesterday, a release of TheLastRipper have been in the workings for a while. Now the final details have finally been solved and I’ve released TheLastRipper for both Linux and Windows. Among some of the most interesting changes are:
- ID3v2 support (
Issue 5) - International characters (
Issue 4) - Perfect clipping of songs (
Issue 6) - Fix tab-index and improve UI (
Issue 41) - Handle exceptions when launching browser on windows (
Issue 45) - General exception handling dialog (
Issue 46) - Support for http proxies (
Issue 44) - Better overall stability

Since 2 days can’t the ripper not connect to my lastfm-profile.And i can’t ripp the music.Can you hel p me?Or did lastfm make this problem?

The failing login is my problem, take a look at issue 63:

But it seams as if Last.fm has closed stream by use of the old 1.1 protocol. I can’t get Last.fm to play in any of the other 1.1 last.fm players… So I guess it’s a server bug (Don’t know if it’s a mistake, but I’d assume it is).

thanks for the program, exactly what i was looking for!
it’s great you support 1d3v2 now – but why ist the tag “genre” not filled?
so, if i record rock one day and jazz the other, how can i get it divided, if i want to listen to rock only? couldn’t you put the station i’m recording into the filed “genre”? so i can search by this field. TIA!

There’s a lot of the features in id3v2 tags that not used yet (embedded image etc.). But it’s only possible to detect genre when recording from tag radio, if you record from a personal radio it would be fairly difficult
